Legal policy and registration of alcohol regulation for the national health promotion in the Korea, U.S.A, U.K and France

Abstract

|
This study was designed to recommend national policy related to the alcohol regulation to Korean government based on the comparative analysis of foreign countries laws & regulations on alcohol. Data related to the national regulation and policies were collected by four countries" article, text, web, regulations and consultation from experts.
The reforms of national regulation on alcohol were recommended based on the analysis of the countries" legal system. The items of each area are 9 targets as follows; raising awareness and political commitment, health-sector response, community action to reduce the harmful use of alcohol, drink-driving policies and countermeasures, addressing the availability of alcohol, addressing marketing of alcoholic beverages, pricing policies, harm Reduction, reducing the public health impact of illegally and informally produced alcohol. The comparative analysis showed that some complements are needed for governmental Alcohol Administration Bill. For the reduction of economic and social costs, legal program have to fulfill these indicators to achieve the 9 targets.
In conclusion, the results of this study will contribute to revise the states and improve the national regulation system for to reduce the harmful use of alcohol in Korea.
